This class will introduce the exercises and principles that are the foundation for the Pilates mat work Level 1. The Pilates Method is essentially a mind-body centering technique that emphasizes movement from the lumbo-pelvic region. The Pilates method works by adjusting the intensity of each exercise based on proper alignment, breath, anatomical levers, and progression of a skill once mastery of the more basic positions is attained, with the goal of creating a central core of stability.
